Malaak Compton-Rock
2011 Benefit Luncheon Speaker

Malaak Compton-Rock will be the guest speaker at the 2011 Benefit Luncheon. The event will be held Monday, October 24, from Noon - 1:15 pm, at the TRAC Center in Pasco.

Malaak lives by her favorite Marian Wright Edelman quote: “Service is the rent we pay for living.” As wife of comedian Chris Rock, a judge on Oprah’s Big Give, and a successful public relations executive who has lent her talents to organizations such as UNICEF, she is a powerful combination of celebrity and service. Focusing on issues that are close to her heart, including youth, women’s empowerment and education, Compton-Rock founded The Angelrock Project, an on-line e-village that promotes volunteerism, social responsibility and sustainable change. She also founded and coordinates Journey for Change, an initiative that has made headlines, taking at-risk youth from Brooklyn to South Africa and empowering them through global service. The author of If It Takes a Village, Build One, Compton-Rock shares an inspirational message for everyone who ever wanted to make a difference.
